Even though it wasn’t my boyfriend’s actual birthday, I wanted to make a special dessert for our weekly family game night. Mo’s creativity never ceases to amaze me and I always feel the need to step it up when I make desserts for him. So when I saw an artist’s palette cookie cutter I knew exactly what I wanted to make!
I was so glad to have some new decorating bags & tips that were given to me by one of my best friends! It made the decorating process so much easier.
I used my favorite sugar cookie & royal icing recipe. I know I’ve said it before but these cookies rock! They’re so good and the decorating possibilities are endless with royal icing. Patience, however, is key. I would not recommend decorating with royal icing while also trying to study for finals, or workout, or…well, you get the idea. Set aside time to decorate and you won’t be stressed about finishing them on time or getting overwhelmed if you make a mistake. After all, decorating is meant to be creative and fun. Studying for finals is not. Workouts fit somewhere in between…
